4. Server Reliability - Perhaps one of the overlooked aspect on choosing an ideal hosts. You should be vigilant on reviews of hosting providers as they will become part of your basis in choosing. Try to contact their support as what servers they are running because sometimes, this aspect won't be available for you until you ask them.
5. Backups - The backup system should be there laid out on every plans they provided.
6. Uptime Guarantee - Are they able to provide uptime guarantee. You should see to it if they an uptime guarantee of shall we say 99.9% or no guarantee at all.
7. The Operating System - Again it depends on what do you want whether its a blog, full cms or simply basic html, you should be able to know the kind of operating system your server is running.
8. Database - Some web script do require database, like wordpress and VBulletin it require a database for it to work.

The above tips will surely help in deciding a real deal in choosing a webhost. By now there are hosting companies I believe that meet these qualifications.
