When I went online a couple of months ago, I have read some blogs or websites about on how to make money online. But I could not find a starting line on this, so I decided to log my own steps on the first 5 things that should be done before going full blasts. Listed below are the basic steps for those who want to make a serious endeavor online.
- Get a domain name of your choice. To be able to identified on vast net world, you must decide now on what will be your domain name of choice. It is a fact that brands do work in business. In the same way, you are going to identify a needle over a haystack. Decide now on what will be your domain name, I would suggest to list down whatever comes up on your mind and sort it according to your passion. Remember this, if you choose a name that will not represent your entire passion, chances are, you have difficulty in adjusting the needs of your prospected audience or readers. Worst of it, you will loose your interest. Since, I make this as a guide, I would suggest to get your ideas into actions rather into names. After choosing your would be domain name, have it registered at an ICANN Accredited Registrars. GoDaddy , Namecheap, Register and Networksolutions are among the registrars you can choose from. - Get a reliable hosting company. Now, you may have heard about computer servers, they are computers that will hosts your website files like html and php. Although, there are free web hosting companies to choose from, I would suggest to get a server or hosting company within your locality to ensure immediate support in case you experience downtimes. But it is not necessary as long as you can get good feedbacks about a certain hosting company, then why wait. After choosing the web hosting company, you may now purchase a plan that will be paid on a monthly basis. This will depend on your needs, I would suggest not to get the cheapest one but the next plan.
- Choose a software. After you have chosen your hosting company, you have to get a piece of cake, no I mean get a script for your site or if you know web programming, then build your pages by hand. The easiest way to get a software for your site, I would suggest to take a look at this collection of open source programs. Most of these scripts are already included in as one click install in Cpanel under Fantastico deluxe. That’s it, if your webhosts plan comes with it. Installing it manually would require knowledge on file permissions, ftp, etc.
- Write content or article. This will be the hardest part and may not be a problem if you are indeed a good writer. You have to come up an article or content solely made by you, or you can hire somebody to write for you, if you got a budget on this. Be sure to have an agreement with the ghostwriter to have the article written for you will be owned by you and not to published the same in the future. Please do not make free articles as your content. It will not help your pagerank.
- Monetize your site. This will follow after you put up some content on your site. There are many ways to monetize your site or blog. But first, we must have Google Adsense. You can have guide on how to install Google adsense after your approved application.
Since this is only a 5 step guide on how to make money online, I will have the next 5 steps next week. In time for Christmas. For now I am concentrating on the outlook of this off topic site of mine. But never mind, its up to the reader to decide.
